# Reindex api is not copying the \_ignored field values from source index

Hello Folks,

I am trying to reindex the app search documents index from older version of es v7.17 to v8.8 but the target index is not maintaining the same \_ignored field value as source index.

do we have any options in reindex api to keep the "\_ignored" field value in target index same as source index.

also if someone can refer any resource to refer the app-search engines and related documents migration steps from older version of enterprise-search(v7.16) to new version (7.17), this will help me too.
