# Reindexing via Upgrade Assistant failed

Hi there,
I am trying to use the Upgrade Assistant provided by kibana.
I have to upgrade one of my indices to version 6.8 because it is created with version 5.x before I can upgrade my cluster to version 7.
Last night I started the migration process but after 10 hours and around 66% the process just errored with this message:
"TypeError: \_primary\_term from Elasticsearch must be an integer"
What am I supposed to do with such a message? Is one record damaged/different? Can the upgrade assistant not just ignore such entries?
Is there a way to get more information about this error? I couldn't find any with Google.
The index size is around 10GB and contains mainly simple log entries.
I am running on hosted elastic cloud.

I'd start a brand new 8.2 cluster and use reindex from remote if possible.
I don't know exactly what you should do regarding your question. May be reach the support.

Hi,
but when I reindex to a new cluster I have to switch all my other indices also to this cluster to use it in the future, which is not that easy just for an upgrade which should be supported by the assistant...
Yeah I reached out to the support 4 days ago already, let's see what they say.
