# Reindexing

Hi,
Is this [https://github.com/elasticsearch/elasticsearch/issues/1077](https://github.com/elasticsearch/elasticsearch/issues/1077) still on
TODO list in ES ? 馃檪 If so, what is the expected time of delivering this
one:
- "Modify the mapping and ask for reindexing (even in the same cluster)
documents stored in oldindex to a newindex index. The new mapping will be
defined in newindex" ?

You can do it yourself, issue a scan search and reindex the data you want
into a fresh index.
