I am not running a cluster and just setting up an internal configuration for ES for a few of my servers. I have ELK up but I have monitorbeats on another machine. That can not access elk remotely. Any time I change network.host to 0.0.0.0 I get an error in the logs stating:

[1]: the default discovery settings are unsuitable for production use; at least one of [discovery.seed\_hosts, discovery.seed\_providers, cluster.initial\_master\_nodes] must be configured

I am new to ELK

Any help would be great

This is a [bootstrap check](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/bootstrap-checks.html) and the message describes what you should do: set one of these settings. If want no discovery to occur (because you only have the one node) then I suggest:

```auto
discovery.seed_hosts: []
```
