# Rename field name in saved search

Hi,

I am currently trying to visualize a result based on saved search. However, the result field name is too distracting/displeasing so would like to rename it to something simple. I know this can be achieved through data tables, but it comes with an extra column for Metrics such as "Count". Is there any workaround/solution for this?

In recent Kibana versions you can go to Stack Management \> Index patterns and set the display name for your field. It will be used in Discover and Visualize.

Hi @flash1293,

I am currently using 7.10. Seems that the latest version is 7.12. Is there any work around available for the mentioned version?

I see, I'm not aware of a way around this in 7.10
