We are planning to upgrade our 2.x cluster to 5.5, and as part of the upgrade we need to change the cluster name, as well as the names of all nodes.
The plan is to shut down all nodes, install 5.x, change the configuration accordingly and restart everything.

Will the new cluster be able to recover all of the data that exists under the old cluster name? Are there any risks involved that we should be aware of?

You would be better off making the name changes before the upgrade, as you can simply do a `mv` on the filesystem to cater for that.

I'm not sure how it'd work from 2\>5 as the directory structures changed as well.
