# Renaming the segments of pie chart and associated data value

Hello,

I am mapping logs to a severity of numbers 1-4.

For the life of me I cannot find anywhere that talks about renaming the names of the slices to something readable. Any help in renaming the numbers to text?

Hi @timadsit

in general I'd recommend use formatters, as the lookup formatter.  
But if you've used filters to define the buckets custom labels can be used there as well.
