# Reporting disregards zoom

Hi all,
I am using Kibana version 7.8.2, and when generating a report of my dashboard which includes a map (Elastic Maps Service), the report completely disregards the zoom level, and always produces the map in its initial position.
How do I have the report reflect what I have zoomed in on, and not _always_ show the initial map location?

Maps embedded in dashboards only persist the current zoom level and map center when the dashboard is saved. Have you tried creating a report after re-saving the dashboard?

Hi Nathan,
Thanks for your reply. Indeed, this works.
However I was hoping there would be some way for my reporting\_users role to position the map as they want, without the need for permission to edit the dashboard, as this changes the dashboard for everyone.
