# Restoring deleted indexes from a data stream

I bungled setting up the retention policy for a data stream with the result that a bunch of indexes have been deleted when they should not have been.

I have snapshots of most of the indexes scattered across several snapshots but the kibana restore interface only presents the data stream as a whole.

What is the expected manner of doing a restore like this?
