# Restrict node that can join cluster

Hi all,  
Is there a way to define or restrict the host names which can join a specific cluster in the enterprise network on the same domain.

This part of the forums is mostly for SIEM/Endpoint security and you might have better luck on the Elastic stack part of the forums.

However, you can do it by IP, CIDR, and might even be able to use host names directly (I haven't used host names before) from the looks of things:
