# Return XML instead of JSON

Hi,

I saw there was a plugin to serialize JSON to XML by adding a Header **Accept: application/xml** to the Query - but the plugin is only for older versions (2.3.x) of elasticsearch.

I checked the plugins for elasticsearch but did not yet find a suiteable option.  
Is there any other solution you may recommend to get XML formatted response?

What I would like to do is consume elasticsearch query results from a client expecting XML results.
