Hi,

In the last couple of weeks we evaluated Elastic Search and we are very happy with it. I was wondering whether you could tell us a little about your plans for Elastic Search. In particular, when do you expect to release a stable version? Will you be offering commercial support (or are you already)?

Regards,

## Bart.

Hi,

```
I consider elasticsearch to be quite stable (it is already used in
```

production) with one caveat until the GA release. You system should be able
to reindex the data. In general, I try very hard to maintain backward
compatibility on the gateway level, which means rolling a new version is a
matter of shutting down the cluster and starting it up again. A cluster
consisting of different node versions is something that I plan to tackle
later, its not simple... . As a side note, I might need to make a small
change to the gateway index translog format, which will make supporting
changing versions easier. Hopefully, this will be the last change, and the
gateway format will get consolidated.

Regarding features, they are mainly driven by users like you. I have my
list of features, including geo support, improved faceting, hadoop/cassandra
integrations, custom map reduce, more search features, more statistics, web
admin console, ... . The web admin console is something that I really want
to tackle, since it will make things easier to monitor elasticsearch.

```
Commercial support is not available. Maybe in the future ... .
```

Hi,

We use ES in production, this is amazing and very powerful

For us the priority list:

1. Improving Faced
2. One way to operate on the results, (SYSDATE-5, etc)
3. More search features
4. Web Admin console
5. Statistics, machine learning, warehouse, something like that.

cheers,
Tony
