# Schedule replica shard creation

Hi!  
Is there any way to schedule the creation of replica shards? I'd like to mitigate the performance impact of the replica shard creation during indexing and add replicas during the night.

Not natively to Elasticsearch, you'd need to do it through another system (cron etc).
