# Search UI - custom checkbox styling issue

Hi there, I'm developing an app using search UI and Elasticsearch, great experience so far.

I 'm lacking in advanced React skills, I have no idea why my custom styled checkboxes won't reflect the correct state in the UI, though they are working fine, clicks are giving the right search results. The issue is that the checkboxes won't change to an unchecked state

Anyone done this before successfully? As for now, I'm reverting back to the standard styling.
