# Search with GUID

Hi
I am trying to search a cloumn with Guid. Guid is saved in Elastic in upper case. While I searched with lowercase, its not giving result. Is it case sensitive with Guid?

It depends on the mapping and what you are exactly doing. But if you meant `_id` field, yes.
Could you provide a full recreation script as described in [About the Elasticsearch category](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/about-the-elasticsearch-category/21). It will help to better understand what you are doing. Please, try to keep the example as simple as possible.
