# Security minimal setup 7.9.0

Can anyone confirm this procedure is valid for 7.9.0 and should work? Or can anyone highlight any issues with trying this on 7.9.0?

I see the page only exists in documentation from 7.12.0 onwards - "This page is not available in the docs for version:7.9"
I have a single node cluster installed by rpm running on basic licence which does not have security enabled and want to enable log on with built in user name and password.
I plan to test by installing a cluster on the same version and trying, but wanted to see if anyone out there can shed any light before I go off down that path.

Hi @mwitsas I would follow the documentation for that version

7.9 is very very very old you should really consider upgrading to a supported / newer version

Thanks for the link - the procedure worked on 7.9.0 for us and yes we are looking to upgrade but the requirement was just to enable security for an existing cluster asap.
