# Security Privileges - Auto Expand Replicas

Hello.

I'm running ES version 8.1.3 and I'm facing some issues regarding "auto\_expand\_replicas"

This is my command on the console over Dev Tools.

```auto
 PUT /.kibana/_settings
{
 "index" : {
  "number_of_replicas":0,
  "auto_expand_replicas": false
 }
}

```

This is the response:

So after reading through the forum, I realized that I would need to have [Manage Index Privilege](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/security-privileges.html).

I created the following role to my user, but I still didn't succeed at changing the "auto\_expand\_replicas"
