# Server-sent-events (SSE) - Monitoring in APM

Does anyone use APM for monitoring SSE communication between different App components?

Although I've been impressed with APM so far for Java spring-boot microservice monitoring there are holes in the tracing due to our implementation of SSE for certain communication between components.

Would be interested to hear from any of the Elastic Development team on whether anyone else has raised this and whether its on the roadmap too?

SSE has not come up so far. Can you maybe use the [public API](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/apm/agent/java/current/public-api.html) to propagate the context?
