# Set defaultIndex failed

kibana 6.4:  
I set the defaultIndex then I refresh the page, but config.get('defaultIndex') is always the default value (null), why?

I read the source code and found no code about getting config from es

PS: the config is already exists in es .kibana/doc/config:6.4

Hrm, that's strange. The config service should work. Are you writing that document by hand? I think the ID of the document might be wrong; when I look at my local development instance, which is running against master, the ID is `config:7.0.0-alpha1`. Note that uses the _entire_ version, not just the major and minor parts. I think that needs to match whatever version is in Kibana's `package.json` in the root directory.
