# Set version of custom beat

Hi all,

I've made [a new beat](https://github.com/MelonSmasher/browserbeat) and I'm ready to upload a packaged release to my Github releases. I'd like the version to match my git tags. I've searched around and tried on my own to override the version provided by libbeat, but unfortunately, everything I've tried has left the libbeat version (7.4.2) as the version of my new beat.

I've read through both of these posts:

Any help would be appreciated.
