# Setting up APIKey Authentication

In looking at the ElasticLowLevelClient [documentation](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/client/net-api/current/connecting.html) there is an example showing connecting to a cluster with using an apiKey and not using username/password via BasicAuthentication. I haven't been able to find the cluster setup documentation which shows how to set up apikey authentication for connections. Lil help? Thanks.

It's part of Security which comes with XPack commercial plugin. Which you can test for free.

Fantastic. Is there any documentation for how to set this up using the XPack plugin? If so could you please provide a url as to where it can be found?
