# Shards are UNASSIGNED state in ES 7.7 version

Hi Team,

Frequently, i can see the some shards are unassigned state. can any please help me how to fix the issue?

You might try [Cluster allocation explain API](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/cluster-allocation-explain.html#cluster-allocation-explain) to get more info about why shards are unassigned.
