# Sharepoint connector

Hi community,

We are using for the first time SharePoint online connector, and get this error message, any ideas?

Your connector has reported an error

PermissionsMissing: Received Unauthorized response for [https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/sites/?$filter=siteCollection%2Froot%20ne%20null&$select=siteCollection,webUrl](https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/sites/?$filter=siteCollection%2Froot%20ne%20null&$select=siteCollection,webUrl). Verify that the correct Graph API and Sharepoint permissions are granted to the app and admin consent is given. If the permissions and consent are correct, wait for several minutes and try again.

Welcome back! Can you confirm that you've followed the [setup instructions in the documentation](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/workplace-search/current/workplace-search-sharepoint-online-connector.html#sharepoint-configuration) and have set all the permissions listed in the steps?

Hi @carly.richmond ,

Thanks, 😊 We decided to build our internal search with

Connector clients (self-managed) and not with Workplace.

We did all the instructions in this [guide](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/enterprise-search/current/connectors-sharepoint-online.html#connectors-sharepoint-online-connector-client-reference) but still get errors.

Ok, can you share what permissions you have enabled on the Sharepoint side? I'm not sure if it's worth checking the [Graph API troubleshooting](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/resolve-auth-errors) as covered here in the Microsoft documentation as well.

Hi @Noam_Huri,

Please make sure you followed the guide steps for both Sharepoint Online and Sharepoint Server. Permissions in both applications are important.

Looking at the request that failed, it seems that you're missing permissions to Graph API Sites: `Sites.All`. Also you need to make sure that permissions are `Application` permissions, connector does not support delegated permissions.
