# Should I create an SQL Output for beats

Hello,

TL;DR: I was thinking about making an output plugin for SQL.

I tried the Elastic Stack for a few month with my private project, but the Stack seems too big for it and I am very comfortable in SQL. Now I was searching for a metricbeat alternative that is able to output SQL. Because I didn't find anything (and kind of fell in love with metricbeat) I was thinking about doing it myself.  
Do you think I should try to contribute it back to beats or do you think that it doesn't fit for the beats to be able to output to sql?

Hello,

no, I am referring to an alternative output, not to metric collection.  
I don't want to write the data to elasticsearch, I want to write it to mysql.
