# Show only most recent / latest event?

Gathering this information entirely at query time can be computationally expensive, so a common way to make it scalable and efficient, is to create a separate entity-centric index as discussed in this thread: [Pipelined Histogram Aggregation?](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/pipelined-histogram-aggregation/63783)
