Hi,

the query\_string query

[http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/query-dsl-query-string-query.html](http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/query-dsl-query-string-query.html)

has been extended by a heuristic to analyze wildcarded terms some time ago.

I would like to use simple\_query\_string also with analyzed wildcard terms,
but there is no analyze\_wildcard parameter. It gives an error.

Is it possible to add the parameter analyze\_wildcard to simple\_query\_string?

It is not a good solution to have to switch back to query\_string query if
users accidentally enter terms with wildcard characters.

Best,

Jörg

Would it help to work on a pull request for simple\_query\_string to support
analyze\_wildcard?
