I had a confusion after looking at a slow log and wanted some help in getting that clarified, can someone help me understand what total\_shards[] stands for in fetch phase slow logs.

I'm assuming that it's either the total number of shards in the index or number of shards that are queried. It's weird that I see a value of 1766 when I have less than these number of shards in that index. Has that something to do with other indices present, although log print only one index name.
