# Snapshot with NFS file system

Hi all,  
can you confirm to me that if I want to take a snapshot of a specific index I must mount a NFS file system on each node of my Elastic Cluster?  
I mean, currently my cluster is composed by 3 nodes (Master+Data roles). can just one node recovery all the information and create snapshot on its way?

All nodes in the cluster need access to the same shared storage.

Haver you looked at [the documentation](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/6.4/modules-snapshots.html)? If so, is there anything specific that is not clear?
