OK so to put it Appa  
Whats default username and password to Elasticsearch on Ubuntu 16.04?  
Ive apt-ed, started deamon, and want to edit elasticsearch.yml but there is nowhere to be set.

You've provided the OS version, but not what version of Elasticsearch you are using.

Just call your cluster (or a node) on `:9200/`, it'll mention it there.
