# Specify timeframe

I don't see anywhere that I can specify a time frame (i.e. last 5 minutes) on the data I added to my Graph Work space. Is that not possible with the Graph component? Or can I specify the the time frame in my search after I select my index pattern and filters?

The Graph UI does not offer the ability to specify a time frame but the API can use any form of filter on the expansions.  
There is a workaround if you create a [filtered alias](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/indices-aliases.html#filtered) with a time filter on it and then specify that as the choice of index pattern.
