No, Elasticsearch does not allow you to run it as root.

Thank you @Christian_Dahlqvist for your response ,but i have one issue and the issue is like i have Mesos env for deployment where elasticsearch deployed and the logs storing inside container and i wanted to store logs out of the container to make it workable we need volumes , but we have to run this volumes we need root user .But elasticsearch cannot run with root user.so please share if you have any solution for the same .
