# Storing string with : and

So... I a problem with my or no the companies data which can contain `:` and `.` and other valid value a-z0-9åäö.:!#$%&''\*+/=?^\_`{|}~- , in multiple fields and it can look like this _sdk:narhalsan:0203:vgregion.se_. I'm already using the java `import org.apache.lucene.queryparser.classic.QueryParserBase` to escape the query but should i also do that to all the data before we build our elasticsearch index?

P.S. I'm currently getting 200 hits when running a simple\_query against our fields when only one entry exists with sdk:narhalsan:0203:vgregion.se.
