# Stuck in the beginning

I am in the shameful state of getting stuck in the tutorial - [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/logstash/current/advanced-pipeline.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/logstash/current/advanced-pipeline.html)

The configuration file was fine..  
Ran the "Testing your intitial Pipeline" section and got a Manticore Socket Exception error  
Realised, oh I need to install and run ElasticSearch as a prerequisite  
The exception vanished, but the console is unresponsive when I execute  
.. "Pipeline main started " displays, but no way to enter the curl command in the tutorial.

Any ideas on a solution? Are there some other prerequisites I am missing.

Just run the curl command from another terminal.
