# Support for Shenandoah GC

Is there any official testing/support of the **Shenandoah GC**?  
The Shenandoah GC looks to have a vast number of improvements over the CMS GC that is standard.

Currently we don't support Shenandoah, I don't know if we test it. But if you'd like to see it then please raise [a feature request](https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/issues).

As of 6.5 we support G1GC. [This topic](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/where-can-i-find-info-on-the-status-of-g1gc-in-lucene-and-es/149526) is worth a read, as it goes into some of our thinking around supporting these types of things.
