# Suppress scale values

Hi,
is there a way to suppress the drawing of the scale values? We have a use case where those values become pretty long and the visualization gets quite confusing. I would like to suppress the values on e.g. the X-Axis and only see them in the tooltip.

Not at the moment. This would make a good feature request if you don't mind filing it on our Github repo [https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/new](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/new).
You could possibly workaround the issue by using a [custom field formatter](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/field-formatters-string.html) to truncate the field values. The downside is that the formatter will be applied globally, so I imagine that might not be acceptable.
