# Synthetic monitoring

I am looking for a step by step guide for Synthetic monitoring. Anyone have a good resource to reference?

Hi @Garry,

We have recently written [this blog post](https://www.elastic.co/blog/why-and-how-replace-end-to-end-tests-synthetic-monitors) which explains the advantages of Synthetic monitoring and how you can get started with it.

We also have detailed documentation [here](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/observability/master/monitor-uptime-synthetics.html) and a few examples in [this repo](https://github.com/elastic/synthetics-demo).

Please let me know if that's the kind of content you were looking for or if there's any other pieces of information that you're looking for.
