Hi,
I am new to Kibana, and using kibana 7.7

I setup **metricbeat** and using **service** metricset for montioring of systemd services.

I wan to visualize the service status of each service as **1 (active)** or **0 (inactive)** with respect to timestamp on line graph or bar chart in kibana.

Kindly suggest me how to create that visualisation as i am unable to figure out correct aggregation to use.

Thanks,
Nabeel Shakeel

This is a tricky question for a few reasons. In general, this kind of "up or down" monitoring is done in a few ways in the Elastic stack:

- Using one of our solutions like the [Metrics monitoring app](https://www.elastic.co/infrastructure-monitoring)
- Looking for anomalies in the data using a [Machine Learning job](https://www.elastic.co/what-is/elasticsearch-machine-learning)
- Using a tool like [Transforms](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/transforms.html) to pivot your data into a shape that can be analyzed for "active" or "inactive" more

My best recommendation is to try to use one of our existing tools for this.
