# Tableau connecting to ES

Hello Folks,

We are trying to connect Tableau to ES server having OSS 7.6.1 ES with OpenDistro version 1.6.0. We are exploring using [Download Tableau Connector for Elasticsearch | Elastic](https://www.elastic.co/downloads/tableau-connector). Is it possible to use Tableau connector as mentioned in [Download Tableau Connector for Elasticsearch | Elastic](https://www.elastic.co/downloads/tableau-connector) to connect with above mentioned ES server? I could see in ES official website that the version that is required to use Tableau connector should be platinum version.

OpenSearch/OpenDistro are AWS run products and differ from the original Elasticsearch and Kibana products that Elastic builds and maintains. You may need to contact them directly for further assistance.

The Elastic Tableau Connector requires the default distribution and a Platinum license. You can not use the OSS version with OpenDistro.

You will need to build something using the Tableau APIs (if it exists) and the Elasticsearch APIs.

You should check with the Opensearch community to see if someone already made something like this as Opensearch is not supported here.
