G'Day @system, I had a few questions about tagging, which we want to enable, and how it works with tracking. I found [this older thread](https://meta.discourse.org/t/watching-and-tracking-implementation-for-tags-and-categories/46987) which explains some of it, but I was wondering if you can track a specific tag in a single category?

eg can our ML team _only_ track things from #x-pack with an ML tag, or does tracking that tag apply to _any_ ML tag across _all_ categories.

Tags are tracked globally, it's not currently possible to track tags only
in a specific category. You can filter a category to see only topics with a
certain tag, but that's not what you're asking.

We were definitely after filtering on categories for email notifications, but that's still pretty handy 🙂

One last thing, can we get this added as a feature request please 🙂
