I've read [http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/indices-templates.html](http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/indices-templates.html) and es.path.conf on running ES i points to /etc/elasticsearch and I've put my template file in /etc/elasticsearch/templates/logstash.json I can load fine using curl XPUT - with the template : "logstash { } lines removed (since the XPUT has the name in the URL instead. When are you expecting the template to be reloaded?
