# The differences between xpack.security.http.ssl. and xpack.http.ssl. settings

What are the differences? The only thing I know is that one is for security settings and the other appears in watcher configuration. I need further details.

The former correspond to settings regarding TLS setup for the http layer of Elasticsearch, so incoming requests to Elasticsearch on the http layer. The latter correspond to settings regarding the TLS setup for the http client the Watcher uses to make http requests, so outgoing requests from watcher.
