# The inserted data is not sorted correctly in kibana

The data is stored in kafka and pushed to elasticsearch by logstash

Can you please explain more elaborately . probably some of the already discussed posts might have the solution: [How sort by date/time on Kibana Discover](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/how-sort-by-date-time-on-kibana-discover/126804/16)

I used @timestamp as the time field when creating the index pattern.

It can be determined that timestamp is a date type.
