# The syntax of node api query

Hi.  
Would someone plz explain me the syntax of this query :  
`_nodes/stats/process?filter_path=**.max_file_descriptors`  
especially after filter\_path. are those \* wildcards or what?  
And what should I study to learn more about this syntax?
