# There is a problem with installing elastic agent 8.7.1 on Windows Server

After installing elastic agent 8.7.1 on Windows Server 2016 Standard, there is no file.path related information in the log. What is the reason?Hope to reply and help, thank you.

endpoint.log show：

```auto
"message":"AgentConnectionInfo.cpp:123 Agent process is not root/admin or validation failed, disconnecting"

```

Is it because the elastic agent needs administrator privileges to run the program?

Yes, some integrations require root privileges. There are some remediation options [here in the documentation](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/fleet/current/fleet-troubleshooting.html#process-not-root).
