Hey,

I wonder what is the best way to thin out timeseries data for example collected by metricbeat. We dont need to know the exact CPU usage in second X 30 days ago of a particular server. It is sufficient to have a one hour average or so. How can we accomplish this?

I think [rollups](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/7.4/xpack-rollup.html) will do what you want.

Yes looks like this is what I need. As it is tagged with "X-Pack" is this a feature I need a subscription for?

/edit
Ok found the answer. It seems to be part of the free basic license

Yes that's right, you do not need a paid subscription for that.
