# Time interval of date histogram for rolled up index

Roll-up job is a really great feature I have been looking forward.

Unfortunately I found I can't set time interval of date histogram to 'auto' if the visualization is for rolled-up index.

In my opinion it would be very convenient if I can choose 'auto' time interval and Kibana automatically adjust the time interval to something possible to calculate and show warning if it is not possible.

We are tracking a similar issue here. [https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/24059](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/24059)

Based on the discussion in that issue, I don't think it is currently possible for Kibana to automatically determine the time interval.

Thank you. It is exactly what I wanted.  
I am happy with that many guys had the same idea and it is being progressed steadily.  
I hope this feature will be released soon.
