Received response for a request that has timed out, sent [0ms] ago, timed out [0ms] ago, action [cluster:monitor/nodes/info[n]], node

I have a 2 and 3 node cluster on ES 2.2.0. On both of those clusters the above error with some extra text is telling me that it is timing out talking to the other node or nodes in the cluster.

All of the entries are very low ms counts like 0ms or 16ms.

This is on two/3 servers with 8GB / 4GB allocated to the heap.

Between the 2 clusters which are indexing the same data and getting the same errors. The amount of errors is the same between either a 2 node or a 3 node cluster.

Any ideas or where to check next?

Are they all in the same datacenter?

No they are across DC's. The latency is very low between them.

In other news. I have a 1.7 cluster between the same DC's and everything is fine.
