# Timeshift/time-based comparisons

Hi all,
is there a simple way to get the same functionality [grafana](http://play.grafana.org/#/dashboard/db/grafana-play-home) provides with the [timeShift](http://graphite.readthedocs.org/en/1.0/functions.html#graphite.render.functions.timeShift) function in Kibana as well?
I am currently using the trends panel for this kind of time-based comparisons. My problem with this panel is: while it indicates \>that\< something happened when i want to find out what exactly happened i usually have to compare different Kibana-tabs unless it is really trivial.
