# @timestamp missing exception for datastream

Getting the below exception while indexing the document into datastream

org.elasticsearch.ElasticsearchException: Elasticsearch exception [type=illegal\_argument\_exception, reason=data stream timestamp field [@timestamp] is missing]

Injest Pipeline
