# Tomcat 8.0.x supported by APM Java agent?

We're running Tomcat 8.0.36 - although specifically not mentioned at [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/apm/agent/java/current/supported-technologies-details.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/apm/agent/java/current/supported-technologies-details.html) - as it runs servlet spec 3+ it should be supported, right?

Could be, but not tested.  
Best thing is to just try it out and see what happens. If you do, we will love to hear how it worked out 😃

We are using Tomcat 8.0.51 and it works fine.

The problem is that there is no Tomcat 8.0.x docker container available so we can't easily test that. Also note that Tomcat 8.0.x is end of life, meaning it does not get security updates anymore. So I'd recommend updating to 8.5.x.
